About
In November 2024, I had a left amygdalohippocampectomy via a multi-trajectory LiTT (laser ablation). Here, I share the stories behind that decision and recovery1.
I was born and raised on the island of Guernsey. Most of my family still lives there, and it remains the place I measure all other places against.
Today, I live in the Bay Area, where I work as a Frameworks Engineer at Apple2, building the low-level technologies that quietly power the devices people use every day.
I’m married to Amanda, my wife of seventeen years, and together we’re raising three kids (yes, one of them a teenager… wish us luck).
All thoughts and opinions here are my own.

If you’re curious, I originally created very long blog posts detailing every aspect of each story, but I could not imagine people reading that. I then turned those into Threads posts, drastically trimming them down. Some became strangely popular, but keeping up with social media is no longer something I can do. I then lengthened each story ever so slightly and moved them here. Also yes, I like footnotes (: ↩
